Slow dance

This composition came from a 16 year old women who is suffering from terminal cancer. As a member of the club which no one wants to join she wanted these thoughts passed on. We will all have our opportunity to look into the abyss and recognize what she is saying; don't wait.

SLOW DANCE

Have you watched kids
On a merry-go-round?
Or listened to the rain
Slapping on the ground?
Ever followed the butterfly's erratic flight?
Or gazed at the sun into the fading light?
You better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.
Do you run through each day
on the fly?
When you ask how are you?
Do you hear the reply?
When the day is done
do you lie in your bed
with the next hundred chores
running through your head?
You'd better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.
Ever hold your child,
We'll do it tomorrow!
And in your haste,
Not see his sorrow?
Ever lost touch,
Let a good friendship die
Cause you never had time
To call and say, "Hi"?
You'd better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.
When you run so fast to get somewhere
You miss half the fun of getting there.
When you worry and hurry through your day,
It is like an unopened gift....
Thrown away.
Life is not a race.
Do take it slower
Hear the the music
Before the song is over.

I have kept a promise to keep this thought alive. Use it, copy it, share it, in memory of the young one who recognized in a few months what many of us take years to awaken too.

Thanksgiving is a week away. We will be giving thanks. Eric

Congratulations on the littlest Overland. I will endevor to pass on a book for you to read to the little one. Children absolutely love to be read to. If given a preferance, my children will pass up a dvd any day of the week, if you start reading a book aloud. Please take the time it is soooo worth it. To have your child tell you that a hippopotamus doesn't eat plants, he chews gum. How do 2 year olds become so worldly? Dr. Suse. I had to chime in on the enjoy life now theme. I met this old widower who carried on in such historonics, you'd think he was dying and that any moment would be his last. That man was not dying. He was living. Don't wait for a near miss to bing out your inner heathen. Enjoy. Love, sincerly with all my heart. Tom E

Here are words to encourage you during this tough time. You were very much a part of our winter office party. We all send you are best wishes and say how badly we miss you. The party was pretty low key (I am sure because you were not there giving us all your years of wisdom on how to be the life of the party.)

My prayers are that you will be feeling great and can enjoy the Christmas season with all our family.

Hope your litle grandson, Jack is home and doing well.

WE SURE DO MISS YOU. YOUR ARE IN MY DAILY THOUHGTS AND PRAYERS. Hannah
