We have beat the odds.

Dear all, please read and pass on the wonderful article in Stanford magazine by Forrest Church. He has esophageal cancer, the outlook is fearsome but he proposed a perspective that all of us should consider. Click on the STANFORD Magazine:November/Dec tab. Best to all, Eric

Eric,

Decades ago I reluctantly and forcefully compelled my sleepy eyes to remain open as I scanned and superficially interpreted volumes of required college poetry and classics -- never, ever contemplating the incredible power and beauty of the choice of words in the English language as I do now when I read your blog. I share the highlights of your blog--(and there are many) with my kids, but suspect they are so young and caught up in the visual U-Tubes and sound bites of their lives, that they too will miss much of the mesmerizing beauty of life unfolding right before them. It seems only a soul who has had had time and an event to truly contemplate the universe can see and express that miracle. Move over Thoreau -- Eric Overland has pen in hand.

Do you have a copy of Maryann’s graduating presentation (Mom's Rules) you could share with us? (perhaps post on the blog)
